A four-product glycinate-chelated trace mineral line: GLYCINIX™ Fe · Cu · Zn · Mn. Glycine — the smallest amino acid — forms a straight-chain compound with the metal that is non-irritative, non-hygroscopic, and demonstrably protective of the vitamins around it. Independent stability work measured Vitamin A monthly loss at 5.7% with glycinate iron vs. 9.7% with iron sulfate — the rest of the premix lasts longer because of the mineral you chose.

The glycinate chelation — amino-acid simple, premix safe.

Glycine is the smallest of the proteinogenic amino acids — and the only one without a chiral center. That structural simplicity is exactly what makes it a clean ligand: glycine forms a stable straight-chain compound with divalent metal ions through a single carboxyl–amino bidentate bond per ligand. The result is a chelate that does not absorb moisture, does not oxidize the vitamins it sits next to in the premix, and does not irritate the GI tract on the way in.

The smallest amino acid makes the cleanest chelate.

Two glycine molecules wrap a divalent metal ion through their amino and carboxyl groups, forming a 1:2 metal-to-ligand complex with a straight-chain geometry. There's no ring strain, no chiral carbon, and no bulky side chain — which is why the bond is stable enough to survive premix conditions but accessible enough to be absorbed.

  • Multi-stage drying — increasing-temperature drying yields fully reacted, low-moisture granules.
  • Non-hygroscopic — does not pull moisture out of the premix, so no caking on the storage side and no oxidative damage on the vitamin side.
  • Non-irritative palatability — glycine is intrinsically sweet; the chelate avoids the bitterness and GI irritation of inorganic sulfates.
  • Fine-granule flowability — angle of repose ~24–30°, lower than sulfates and commercial glycinate alternatives.

Four glycinate products on the same chemistry platform. Iron is the line's unique offering — GLYCINIX is the only KYNAD trace-mineral line that ships an Fe variant. Copper, zinc, and manganese pair naturally with the MHA-chelated TRACNIX™ versions of the same metals — operators frequently run GLYCINIX in the vitamin-sensitive premix tier and TRACNIX in the production-feed tier.

Vitamin protection — the killer differentiator.

Inorganic sulfate trace minerals are aggressively pro-oxidant. In a premix, they speed up the degradation of vitamins A, D₃, and E — the operator pays for a vitamin pack and then loses meaningful inclusion to the mineral pack sitting next to it. Independent stability work measured the monthly average loss rate of three vitamins across iron and zinc sources. Glycinate dramatically reduced vitamin attrition vs. sulfate equivalents.

Flowability & palatability — what the feed mill notices.

Two practical metrics matter at the feed mill: how cleanly the trace mineral pours and mixes (flowability), and whether the animal accepts the resulting feed (palatability). On both axes, GLYCINIX outperforms sulfates and commercial glycinate alternatives — flowability measured by angle of repose, palatability by the intrinsic sweetness and non-irritative profile of the glycine ligand.

Palatability note. Inorganic sulfates are bitter and gut-irritative; the glycine ligand is intrinsically sweet. In practice this means GLYCINIX feeds carry no feed-refusal penalty even at elevated mineral inclusions — useful in starter and pre-starter diets where intake is the dominant economic lever.
