PHYTERIX™ — Nature's Efficiency Booster.
Unlocking nutrients with thermostable phytase.
A granulated, thermostable microbial 6-phytase engineered for poultry and swine. Degrades phytate at superior rates — liberating bound phosphorus, calcium, amino acids, and energy that would otherwise pass through the bird unused.
Activity ≥ 10,000 FTU/g
How It Works — three things that matter.
Phytic acid (IP6) traps roughly two-thirds of the phosphorus in plant feed ingredients. Phyterix™ is an E. coli-derived 6-phytase that hydrolyzes IP6 quickly in the low-pH upper digestive tract — releasing phosphorus, calcium, amino acids, and energy that would otherwise pass through unused.
Higher IP6 degradation
Degrades phytate at a high rate to liberate bound phosphorus, calcium, and amino acids — matching the best 6-phytases on the market and exceeding mid-tier alternatives.
Active in crop & gizzard
Starts working at a high rate in the crop and gizzard, where pH is lowest. Begins releasing phosphorus immediately, before nutrients pass beyond the upper digestive tract.
Pellet-stable to 90 °C
Granulated, microencapsulation-style formulation holds activity through high-temperature pelleting — average 95% recovery at 85 °C in post-pelleting trials.
Dosing — continuous, low inclusion, one form.
Phyterix™ ships as a single granulated form, dosed continuously throughout the animal's life. Two reference rates serve most poultry and swine programs; higher dosing for super-dose strategies is supported with technical-team consultation.
Phyterix™ 500
Standard reference for phosphorus and calcium release at typical commercial feed rates. Anchors the published matrix value of AvP 0.148 / Ca 0.160.
Phyterix™ 1000
Higher matrix value — 0.222 AvP / 0.244 Ca. Compensates for substantially reduced supplemental P and Ca. Comparable on BW gain to a leading reference phytase at 1,500 FTU/kg.
Dosage envelope 50–100 g/MT covers most poultry and swine applications. Super-dose strategies and species-specific tuning available through the KYNAD technical team. Continuous inclusion throughout the animal's life recommended.
Matrix value — where Phyterix™ pulls ahead.
Matrix values quantify how much supplemental phosphorus and calcium the formulation can credit back to the phytase. At 1,000 FTU/kg, Phyterix™ delivers the highest available phosphorus (AvP) and calcium (Ca) release of the major commercial 6-phytases.
Available Phosphorus & Calcium release at 1,000 FTU/kg

Super-dose trial — Phyterix™ 1000 matches Reference 1500.
A direct head-to-head against a leading reference phytase at super-dose levels. Phyterix™ at 1,000 FTU/kg matches the reference at 1,500 FTU/kg on body weight gain; Phyterix™ at 1,500 FTU/kg numerically exceeds both. Practical implication: lower inclusion, lower cost per bird.
Phyterix™ vs reference phytase — super-dose head-to-head
| Treatment | Description | Inclusion rate | BW gain |
|---|---|---|---|
| NC | Negative control · no enzyme | — | Baseline |
| Reference 1500 (PC) | Reference phytase at 1,500 FTU/kg | 300 g/MT | Positive control |
| PHY 1000 | Phyterix™ at 1,000 FTU/kg | 100 g/MT | ≈ QB 1500 |
| PHY 1500 | Phyterix™ at 1,500 FTU/kg | 150 g/MT | Numerically > both |
Interpretation. Phyterix™ at 1,000 FTU/kg compensates 0.244% Ca and 0.222% AvP, comparable to the reference phytase at 1,500 FTU/kg on body weight gain. At 1,500 FTU/kg, Phyterix™ releases additional nutrient (observed as further BW lift). Both PHY 1000 and PHY 1500 can reach market weight at earlier age — direct production-cost savings.
Side by side — Phyterix™ vs. leading 6-phytases.
A feature-level comparison against two leading commercial 6-phytases. Phyterix™ matches or exceeds on every dimension that affects the formulator's decision — pH range, phytate degradation, thermostability — while staying in the cost-efficient general-application segment.
