β-Mannans are anti-nutritional fibers naturally present in soybean meal, palm kernel meal, copra meal, guar meal, and canola meal. Poultry produce little or no endogenous mannanase, so these fibers pass through largely undigested — trapping nutrients, raising viscosity, and triggering an avoidable immune response.
Birds can't break it down
Poultry produce little to no endogenous mannanase. Without supplementation, dietary β-mannans transit the gut undigested — the nutrients bound behind them never enter the metabolizable pool.
Nutrients get trapped
Undigested β-mannans increase intestinal digesta viscosity, slowing nutrient transit and absorption and reducing the digestibility of the whole diet — not just the mannan fraction.
Energy diverted from growth
Soluble mannans trigger an innate immune response the bird doesn't need. Every gram of energy spent on that avoidable response is a gram not converted to body weight.

Even standard corn/soy diets carry a meaningful β-mannan burden, and high-mannan ingredients like guar meal and palm kernel meal push it well past 0.6%. That load is the addressable target for MANNTERIX P.

How it works — mannans to mannan oligosaccharides.
MANNTERIX P hydrolyzes β-mannans into smaller mannan oligosaccharides (MOS). Nutrient digestibility improves, intestinal viscosity drops, and the freed energy — plus the energy no longer spent on immune activation — is redirected to growth.

MANNTERIX P is derived from a thermophilic cellulolytic bacterium, giving it intrinsic thermostability through pelleting and broad pH activity across the whole digestive tract. It survives the acidic, protease-rich stomach where competitor enzymes collapse.

MANNTERIX P maintains 84–100% relative activity across the physiological pH range and recovers 75% of activity after 90 minutes of pepsin exposure at pH 3.0 — nearly 3× the pepsin resistance of Competitor A. In a 3-arm broiler trial, dropping dietary energy by 100 kcal/kg cost body weight and FCR. Adding MANNTERIX P to the reduced-energy diet restored body weight above the full-energy standard and delivered the best FCR of all three treatments.

Interpretation. At −100 kcal/kg, MANNTERIX P restored body weight above the standard-energy diet at 21 days (883 vs 873 g/bird) and delivered the best FCR of all three treatments at both 21 and 42 days — recovering the full energy reduction and then some.
Confirmed growth and efficiency — a separate 4-arm trial.
A second broiler trial (n=6) confirmed the effect. Adding 100 g/MT MANNTERIX P to a diet reduced by 100 kcal/kg produced the highest average daily gain and the best FCR of any treatment — beating even the full-energy positive control.

Interpretation. The reduced-energy diet with MANNTERIX P produced the highest ADG (68.33 g/bird/day) and the best FCR (1.458) of any treatment — outperforming the full-energy positive control (67.01 g/bird/day, FCR 1.518).

Across head-to-head broiler trials, MANNTERIX P outperformed Competitor A on ADG and matched it on FCR at 21 days, and outperformed Competitor B on both FCR and ileal digestibility at 28 days — the largest digestibility gain of the three treatments.

Interpretation. MANNTERIX P delivered a +7-point ileal digestibility gain over control at 28 days — the largest of the three treatments — and the lowest FCR in both comparisons.
